Introduction to Reunion

Dear Batch-mates

It has been an amazing journey for us for the last 25 years. Meeting for the first time at Basavangudi, Bangalore on a September Monday, as a raw and shy youngsters with an enthusiasm to do whatever was assigned to us.

Among many things we owe in our life to he great institution , SBI, all of us would invariably rate our Trainee Officer promotion and being part of this wonderful batch, as the major gift we had from SBI.

Any number of subsequent promotions would not have given us the kind of pride and satisfaction that promotion way back in 1991 gave for all of us. It is a true elevation which transformed our life.

·        How can we forget the intense discussions and our anxious queries to whoever we met including some of the guest faculties about our 4 increments.

·        How can we not remember the dreams many of us had in becoming a GM or a CGM of the bank including one who aspired to be a Chairman of the bank.

·        How fresh it is in our mind, the time we all spent together at the STC and many evenings we have spent loitering in Majestic area not to speak our weekly visit to Praful theatre in Indore

·        How much joy and ecstasy we had when we first came to know that we will be called as “Assistant Manager” and not JMG 1 which I am sure, many of our friends who subsequently become Assistant General Manager would not have got.

25 years have gone since, though many of us are in touch on a one on one basis, the very idea of a reunion of all of us has energized us like a kid and thanks to Raghu and Mani this initiative is truly taking shape.

While Whatsup has enabled us to reunite in a single platform, this blog will help us to share our thoughts on how we need to spend that a day and half during our reunion at Chennai during end November

Plan for your visit. Hoping to see all of you at Chennai.

Cheers and Good Luck

  1. There was a very heavy competition among many of our friends to occupy Branch Manager seat at the dummy bank session at Bangalore STC. I used to tell them not to be in a hurry as they would soon get a chance to occupy in real bank scenario. But in my case I had to take the role for 6 times so far!! - N.SIVAKUMAR

  2. Regarding 4 increments some of our friends, out of their anxiety, went to the extent of enquiring even guest speakers who were invited by SBLC much to their embarrassment

  3. The caterer at STC Basavangudi was an excellent guy. They provided hot dinner even if we return by 10 pm without any murmur. Such treatment was not available for us who went to Indore for phaseII
